We are now seeking a Regulatory Standards Implementation Lead (Interim) to coordinate and lead the implementation of the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards across housing services. This pivotal role will support the delivery of the Housing Improvement Programme, ensuring regulatory requirements are embedded consistently across relevant services and that the organisation is able to demonstrate ongoing compliance and effective assurance.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated professional with strong knowledge of the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards and proven experience leading regulatory or standards implementation within housing services. You will have excellent coordination, project management, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to identify compliance gaps, drive corrective action, and provide clear assurance on regulatory readiness and ongoing compliance.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards
- Proven experience leading regulatory, compliance, or standards implementation within housing services
- Experience coordinating improvement programmes and activities across multiple teams
- Strong understanding of compliance, assurance, governance, and regulatory requirements

Job Responsibilities:
As Regulatory Standards Implementation Lead (Interim), you will be responsible for:
- Leading the coordination and implementation of the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards across housing services
- Supporting the delivery of the Housing Improvement Programme and associated improvement activity
- Ensuring regulatory standards are embedded consistently across relevant housing services and teams
- Coordinating activity across multiple teams to support regulatory compliance and service improvement
- Monitoring progress against regulatory requirements and identifying areas requiring further action or improvement
- Providing assurance on the organisation's readiness and ongoing compliance with regulatory standards
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address compliance gaps and implement appropriate improvements
- Maintaining clear and robust records, reporting, and evidence to support regulatory assurance and demonstrate compliance
- Supporting effective governance arrangements relating to regulatory standards, compliance, and housing improvement
- Preparing clear updates, reports, and evidence for senior stakeholders to demonstrate progress, risks, and areas requiring action
- Ensuring improvement actions are appropriately tracked, monitored, and delivered within agreed timescales
- Working independently while maintaining strong collaboration across housing services and wider organisational teams
Requirements:
Must Have:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Regulator of Social Housing Consumer Standards
- Proven experience leading regulatory, compliance, or standards implementation within housing services
- Experience coordinating improvement programmes and activities across multiple teams
- Strong understanding of compliance, assurance, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence effectively
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements, identify gaps, and drive corrective action
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of regulatory implementation and improvement activity
- Experience maintaining accurate records, reporting, and evidence to support regulatory assurance
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Nice to Have:
- Experience working within a local authority housing environment
- Experience supporting or delivering a Housing Improvement Programme
- Experience preparing evidence, reports, and assurance information for regulatory scrutiny or external review
- Relevant professional qualification in Housing, Regulation, Compliance, Public Administration, or a related discipline
- Experience working across multiple housing services to implement regulatory or service improvement requirements
- Knowledge of governance and assurance arrangements within social housing
