Help us develop and deliver essential water and wastewater infrastructure using your engineering expertise!
As a Design Manager, you’ll be leading and managing the design and technical delivery of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring that solutions are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and meet client and operational requirements. The role oversees multidisciplinary design teams, coordinates internal and external stakeholders, and manages the full design lifecycle from concept through to construction and handover.
You'll work closely with the framework manager to ensure the capability and capacity of design staff is available on the specific contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a design team across multiple disciplines.
- Managing the development and delivery of clean and waste water projects, including pumping stations, clean and waste water networks, and associated infrastructure.
- Ensuring designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, health and safety obligations, and client specifications.
- Planning and monitoring design programmes, resources, budgets, risks, and change control processes.
- Acting as the primary technical interface between clients, operational teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Driving innovation, sustainability, and low-carbon solutions within project designs.
- Reviewing and approving technical outputs while maintaining quality assurance and design governance.
- Supporting and mentoring engineers and designers to develop technical capability within the team.
- Managing design approvals and handover processes to ensure successful project delivery.
