Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. The position requires a valid driving licence, experience in commercial driving, and familiarity with flatbed transportation.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Verify delivery details against orders and obtain signatures or proof of delivery from recipients.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery progress or any issues encountered en route.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies during operations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with knowledge of flatbed transportation.
- Demonstrable experience in commercial driving environments with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools.
- Ability to handle physical tasks related to loading/unloading cargo efficiently and safely.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple deliveries.
