The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is seeking an exceptional senior clinical leader to join our Board as an Associate Non-Executive Director.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership, governance and future direction of a major NHS organisation serving communities across West Essex and East Hertfordshire.
We are particularly interested in individuals with significant experience in nursing, maternity services or an allied health profession, who can bring independent thinking, constructive challenge and sound judgement to Board discussions.
About the role
As an Associate Non-Executive Director, you will:

Provide independent scrutiny, support and challenge to the Trust Board

Contribute to strategic decision-making and organisational oversight

Champion quality, patient safety and clinical effectiveness

Support the development of an inclusive, compassionate and high-performing culture
-
Help shape services through partnership working across the wider health and care system

Ensure the interests of patients, staff and local communities remain at the heart of decision-making
About You
You will have:

Senior or Board-level leadership experience
-
A substantial clinical background in nursing, maternity or an allied health profession

Experience of influencing significant organisational decisions

Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills

The confidence to challenge constructively and support effectively

A commitment to equality, inclusion and improving outcomes for patients
NHS experience is desirable but not essential.
