We are a well-established and growing law firm with five offices, committed to providing exceptional legal services and outstanding client care. We are looking for an organised, motivated and ambitious Accounts & Practice Management Assistant to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within legal practice management and finance. The successful candidate must be committed to studying towards an AAT qualification as a minimum, with the opportunity to undertake further professional qualifications as their career develops.
The Role
Working closely with the Practice Manager and senior management team, you will assist with the day-to-day financial administration and operational management of the firm.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the firm’s legal accounts in accordance with the SRA Accounts Rules.
* Processing purchase invoices, payments and receipts.
* Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
* Assisting with billing, credit control and client account transactions.
* Supporting payroll administration and supplier payments.
* Assisting with compliance, audits and regulatory reporting.
* Producing management information and reports.
* Supporting the smooth running of the firm’s five offices.
* Assisting with administrative projects, policies and practice management initiatives.
* Providing general administrative support to the management team.
About You
The successful candidate will:
* Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Be highly accurate with excellent attention to detail.
* Have strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Be proactive, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Demonstrate discretion when handling confidential information.
* Be willing and committed to studying towards an AAT qualification as a minimum, with support from the firm to achieve further relevant professional qualifications.
Previous accounts, finance or legal administration experience is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
