Wade Building Services is an established steel fabrication company based in Birtley, County Durham, specialising in the manufacture and supply of:
- Structural Steelwork

- Fabricated Steel Components
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Coded Welder to join our busy workshop on a full-time, Monday to Friday basis.
The Role
As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for welding structural steel and fabricated components to a high standard, ensuring all work meets quality specifications and relevant welding procedures.
Working from engineering drawings and fabrication details, you will contribute to the manufacture of bespoke steel products for commercial and construction projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG welding on structural steelwork and fabricated components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
- Produce high-quality welds in accordance with coded welding standards.
- Inspect finished work to ensure it meets company quality requirements.
- Work safely and efficiently within a busy fabrication workshop.
- Assist with general fabrication duties where required.
Requirements
- Valid welding coding/certification or previous coded welding experience.
- Proven experience welding structural steel.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards.
