Wharfeside hire is a furniture and catering hire company based in Thorp Arch Wetherby. We supply and deliver catering equipment, furniture, tableware, and event essentials for wedding’s, corporate events and private functions across Yorkshire.
As our business continues to grow we’re looking for a proactive and reliable maintenance operative to help maintain our warehouse, equipment and yard ensuring everything is safe, organised and ready for hire.
The role
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly.
The role includes:
- Welding and repairing metal frames for ovens and other appliances
- Cleaning, servicing and carrying out minor repairs on appliances.
- Organising and maintaining the warehouse yard.
- Moving large items of stock safely around the warehouse.
- PAT testing and prevent breakdowns of equipment.
- Preparing, spraying and repairing chairs and other hire equipment.
- Maintain other furniture items such as tables.
- Repairs of cages and storage containers
- Supporting the operations team with general maintenance tasks
- Work with the business to improve and develop manual handling tools and new products.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in maintenance (not essential)
- Good practical and problem-solving skills
- Basic welding experience (preferred)
- Ability to work independently
- A positive can do attitude
- Ability to safely lift and move equipment
- Full uk driving license
