Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting daily operations within our establishment, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously, taking orders and providing recommendations where appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop area, including counters, tables, and kitchen equipment.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system.
- Support with stock management, including restocking shelves and ingredients as needed.
- Uphold food safety standards at all times, ensuring proper handling and storage of food items.
- Engage in upselling to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Experience with food preparation or culinary tasks is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during peak hours.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when engaging with customers.
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
