Digital Forensics Specialist
Role overview
Keith Borer Consultants is a leading name in Forensic Science Consultancy and Expert Witness services. We are looking for an experienced Digital Forensics Specialist to join the existing team at our Durham office. The role involves:

Communicating directly with customers to establish requirements and provide estimates

Extraction, processing and analysis of digital evidence relating to mobile phones, with the potential to diversify into other digital area/s of specialisation including computers, tachographs and cell site analysis

Preparing written reports which are accurate and easy to understand

Peer reviewing the reports of colleagues
-
Advising Counsel, preparing joint expert statements and presenting evidence at Court

Assisting in maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation

Contributing to wider company practices, such as auditing and test witnessing
To be considered for this role you must have relevant subject-specific experience, and be up-to-date with advances in this field., A relevant degree or qualifications targeted at this type of role would be advantageous but not essential if appropriate experience can be demonstrated. You will also be organised and diligent, self-motivated, and able to take responsibility for your own workload. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, to be a critical thinker and to have good attention to detail. The ability to work efficiently and effectively, irrespective of deadline, is essential.
The position can be offered on a full or part time basis, with hours to be agreed between 08:00 and 17:30 Monday to Friday. Travel throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and occasionally further afield is to be expected; flexibility will be required to accommodate this. A full UK driving licence is required.

Due to nature of the work we undertake, all applicants must have lived in the UK continuously for the past five years and will be required to gain and retain security clearance which we will arrange. There is also a requirement to consent to routine psychological screening.
