Overview

Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food production, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Prepare ingredients and assist with plating to ensure presentation standards are met
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support in food preparation tasks
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to management
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly
- Contribute to the development of new menu items under supervision, showcasing creativity and culinary flair
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting but training will be given
- Proven skills in food production, cooking, and food safety practices
- Supervising experience or team management skills are desirable but not essential; willingness to lead and mentor others is valued
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food presentation, and restaurant service standards
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations relevant to kitchen operations
- Experience with food preparation, serving, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within a busy kitchen environment
