We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic CAD Technician to join our dynamic joinery team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some initial CAD experience, who is keen to develop their technical skills within a fast-paced and design-led environment. You will work alongside an experienced team delivering high-quality bespoke joinery for prestigious residential and commercial interiors, collaborating with leading interior designers, architects and other design professionals.
The role would suit someone with a good eye for detail, an interest in furniture, interiors or joinery, and a willingness to learn and develop within the business.
The Role
Working closely with our design, project and workshop teams, you will assist in the preparation and development of accurate technical drawings for bespoke joinery projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing and amending 2D CAD drawings for bespoke joinery and interior projects
- Developing drawings from design concepts, sketches and information supplied by designers and project managers
- Preparing plans, elevations, sections and detailed construction drawings
- Making revisions to drawings following client, designer or project team feedback
- Liaising with the workshop and production teams to ensure drawings are clear, accurate and practical to manufacture
- Assisting with the preparation of drawing packages for client approval and manufacture
- Checking dimensions, specifications and drawing details
- Supporting the wider design and project team as required
- Learning about joinery construction methods, materials, finishes and manufacturing processes
- Maintaining accurate drawing records and project documentation
About You
We are looking for someone who is keen to learn and develop rather than someone who already knows everything. You may be a recent graduate, college leaver, junior CAD Technician or someone with transferable technical drawing experience.
Ideally, you will have:
- Some experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- A basic understanding of technical drawing
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills
- A positive and proactive approach to learning
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work as part of a team
- An interest in bespoke joinery, furniture, interiors, architecture or design
- The ability to manage your workload and work to project deadlines
Experience within joinery, furniture or interior fit-out would be advantageous but is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
What We Offer
This is an excellent opportunity to build a career within a creative and technically demanding industry.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Develop your CAD and technical drawing skills
- Gain hands-on knowledge of bespoke joinery design and manufacture
- Work on high-end and unique interior projects
- Collaborate with respected interior designers and design professionals
- Learn directly from experienced designers, project managers and craftspeople
- See projects progress from initial design through to manufacture and installation
- Develop your understanding of materials, construction techniques and production processes
- Grow your responsibilities as your skills and experience develop
We are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of the team and build their knowledge and career within a growing, quality-focused joinery business.
