We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Cook to join our friendly team at Orchard Manor.
As a Care Home Cook, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious and appealing meals for our residents, taking into consideration individual dietary requirements, allergies and personal preferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents.
- Catering for special dietary requirements, allergies and food preferences.
- Preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks as required.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
- Ordering and managing food supplies while minimising waste.
- Keeping accurate records in line with food safety requirements.
- Working closely with care staff to ensure residents' nutritional needs are met.
- Creating a welcoming dining experience for our residents.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working as a Cook, preferably within a care home, hospital or similar setting.
- Understands the importance of nutrition and hydration.
- Has good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety.
- Is organised, dependable and able to work independently.
- Has a friendly and caring approach.
- Is able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
Food Hygiene certification is desirable but not essential, although training will be provided.
