Teaching Assistant to work in our new KS1 SEND classroom
The children, staff and governing body of Lea Community Primary School are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated TA to join our team in providing quality experiences and opportunities for our children. We are seeking a caring, patient and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities SEND within our new KS1 SEND classroom. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and enabling every child to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the Blossom classroom team and the SENCo to provide targeted support for pupils with a range of needs, mainly communication and interaction and cognition and learning. This is a fabulous opportunity to be part of a fabulous school team where the children are at the heart of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with resourcing and setting up the classroom
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Support the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction, self-care and emotional regulation
- Promote independence and confidence in learning
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo and external professionals
- Monitor, record and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
This will be a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to childrens development and progress. We are passionate about the development of our staff and training opportunities will be available including the option of completing a L5 TA qualification specialising in SEND.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.
Essential Experience
- Experience working with children with SEND
Understanding of a range of additional needs or be willing to engage in professional development e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH
