About the role
As our Nursery Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the nursery. You will primarily work independently and will be trusted to ensure the building is clean, tidy and secure at the end of each shift.
Key responsibilities
Hoovering carpets and floors throughout the nursery.
Mopping floors in line with our colour-coded cleaning procedures.
Cleaning toilets and hand basins.
Emptying bins and taking waste to the designated collection area.
Replenishing soap, toilet rolls, paper towels and other cleaning supplies.
Cleaning internal windows, glass and door handles.
Keeping the laundry room clean, tidy and free from obstructions.
Checking windows and doors are secure and lights are switched off at the end of the shift.
Reporting any hazards, defects or maintenance issues to the Manager or Deputy Manager.
Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting when replacements are required.
Carrying out key-holder duties, including securely locking and unlocking the nursery.
Other reasonable duties may be required depending on the needs of the nursery.

Health & Safety
You will be expected to follow all nursery health and safety procedures, including the safe use and storage of cleaning products and chemicals.
You will also be required to follow the nursery's emergency procedures, including fire, first aid and safeguarding procedures.
