To work as a member of the security team for the protection of persons and property and thereby the provision of a safe and secure environment. Working within this high-profile environment your primary role is to ensure the security of people, premises, and property, protecting the reputation of the client/tenants throughout.
- The maintenance of good order in all UniTrust sites including protection against violent acts, abuse and accident.
- The protection of a client’s property against loss, theft, damage (including fire and water) and waste.
- The protection of private property belonging to the client, their staff and visitors against loss, theft and damage.
- Prevent offences against the law of the land, UniTrust disciplinary codes and policies and ensure all are brought to the attention of the management.
- Use X- Ray machines to carry out airport type of security searches, at any of the three entrances.
- Ensure basic fire precautions are in place and means of escape are clear.
- Maintain vigilance on the public within sight of all areas for damage, theft etc. and deal effectively with offenders
- Internal and external patrolling
- Monitoring and responding to CCTV and intruder alarms
- Liaising with the client’s staff for out of hours service calls
- General security duties as required.
- Completing incident reports a daily occurrence book and other security documentation.
Responding to: -
- All fire alarms and related emergencies
- Bomb alerts and all other types of related emergencies
- All other types of incidents (e.g. floods, gas leaks, defective lifts etc.)
- Intruders and other crime-related incidents
- Providing in all cases, assistance in accordance with instructions and training
Other duties: -
- Assisting with mail deliveries when required
- Carrying out in a professional and diligent manner all other duties properly assignable to the position of Security Officer
Qualifications: -
- Officers must have attended the SIA required training and hold a valid SIA licence
- Officers must have at least 3 years Security experience.
- Officers must be capable of using all security equipment necessary to efficiently perform the duties required of a professional security officer.
Training: -
- 2 days and 2 nights on site training.
Aptitudes and attitudes: -
Post holder must be able to demonstrate:
- Good literacy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written English, French will be an asset.
- Good telephone and radio manner
- Computer literacy

Other: -
- Must be able to achieve high level security clearance, which includes a 10-year history check and detail background and criminal records checks.
- It is essential that the post holder has and will maintain an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping.
- Ongoing continuation security training will be provided, and Security staff will be expected to attend training course, self-development will be expected.
