We are seeking a happy hard working Chef to join our small kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a background in restaurant style cooking and a deep understanding of food safety standards. As a senior member of the team you will be responsible for helping to maintain high standards and exciting high quality meals, helping to manage kitchen operations, and ensuring that all food preparation meets our high-quality standards. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment and is eager to help elevate our culinary offerings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to the restaurant's menu and standards.
- Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation is conducted safely and efficiently.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and meal preparation.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
- Create innovative dishes that reflect the restaurant's brand and appeal to our clientele.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen management practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- A passion for cooking with creativity in meal preparation and presentation.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members effectively.
- A relevant culinary qualification is preferred but not essential if experience is substantial.
