New Directions Education is looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work on an ad hoc supply basis across schools in Harrogate and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for qualified HLTAs seeking flexible work that fits around existing commitments while making a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development.
As a Supply HLTA, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of teaching staff.
- Support teaching and learning across a range of year groups.
- Work with individuals and small groups to raise attainment and confidence.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
- Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a productive learning environment.
- Adapt quickly to different school settings and classroom environments.
The successful candidate will have:
- HLTA status or a relevant qualification and equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working within a primary or secondary school setting.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Confidence leading learning activities and whole-class sessions.
- A flexible, positive, and professional approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
