Join an Award-Winning Nursery Group St George’s Nursery Group has been delivering exceptional childcare and early years education across the East Midlands for over 30 years. Proudly recognised as one of the Top 20 Nursery Groups in 2024, we are passionate about creating nurturing environments where children, families, and staff can thrive.
Lead an Award-Winning Nursery with Heart, Passion & Purpose
At St. George’s Nursery, we believe exceptional childcare starts with exceptional leadership.
About the Nursery: Bobblewood offers a true home from home environment, set within a beautiful Character building with a large garden for children to explore and enjoy. Our ethos centres around play, creativity and giving children the freedom to learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Children benefit from a wide range of learning opportunities, including heuristic play and daily woodland learning. We have our own log cabin within the garden, along with dedicated woodland learning areas, where children can explore nature, develop new skills and enjoy outdoor learning experiences every day. Your Role: We’re looking for a passionate Nursery Manager to lead our wonderful Bobblewood Nursery and inspire a team that is committed to giving every child the very best start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, people-focused leader who enjoys developing teams, building strong relationships with families and creating a happy, nurturing environment where children and staff can thrive. No two days in early years are ever the same. Children bring creativity, laughter, curiosity and plenty of personality and we believe the workplace should be just as positive and enjoyable. You’ll be joining a supportive, motivated and friendly team where your ideas, leadership and wellbeing are genuinely valued. Many of our colleagues have been with St. George’s for over 15 years, reflecting the positive culture, strong sense of community and long-term career opportunities we’re proud to offer. From day one, you’ll be fully supported with a thorough induction and onboarding programme, alongside peer buddy and mentoring support to help you settle into your role with confidence. You’ll also have access to in-house training, our online learning platform and ongoing career progression opportunities to support your continued development. If you’re ready to lead with passion, make a real difference and become part of a nursery group that truly values and invests in its people, we’d love to hear from you.
As Nursery Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Inspire, support, and develop your team to deliver outstanding practice
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Maintain exceptional standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and compliance
- Promote the nursery to prospective families and support occupancy growth
- Create a warm, positive, and inclusive nursery environment where children and staff thrive
What we’re looking for:
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- An approved/full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years or above
- At least three years experience working within an early years setting or other suitable experience
- Proven experience leading, supporting and motivating a nursery team
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and regulatory requirements
- A passion for delivering outstanding childcare and early education
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- A positive, professional and family focused approach
If you are passionate about early years, enjoy inspiring and supporting teams, and are looking to develop your career within a supportive and award-winning nursery group, we would love to hear from you. Although this is initially a fixed-term role, we operate several nurseries across the group, so there may be the opportunity for the position to develop into a permanent Nursery Manager role in the future.
