Overview
The Compliance Officer provides essential support to the Compliance Manager in ensuring that the company meets its regulatory and internal compliance obligations. This role focuses on assisting with documentation, audits, and site-based compliance activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely reporting. The position is administrative and operational in nature, without direct responsibility for overall compliance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Support
- Assist the Compliance Manager in maintaining compliance frameworks and documentation.
- Support the preparation of compliance reports and audit evidence.
- Help monitor changes in legislation and update internal records accordingly.
Audits & Inspections
- Provide administrative support during internal and external audits.
- Assist with scheduling audits and collating required documentation.
- Record and track corrective actions following audits.
Site Support
- Help ensure site teams have up-to-date compliance documentation.
- Assist with collecting compliance data from operational sites.
Training & Awareness
- Maintain training records and assist with scheduling compliance-related training.
- Support the delivery of compliance communications and awareness materials.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate compliance records, including policies, procedures, and audit findings.
- Ensure timely submission of required paperwork to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.

Purpose of the Role
The Compliance Officer supports the Compliance Manager by handling administrative tasks, assisting with audits, and ensuring accurate documentation to maintain compliance across the organisation.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Compliance Manager
Works closely with: SHEQ Team, Operations Teams, HR, Site Managers
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy and organisation of compliance documentation.
- Timely completion of audit preparation and follow-up actions.
- Effective support in maintaining ISO certifications and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely or willingness to obtain (required).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a compliance support role.
- Familiarity with compliance processes and ISO standards (preferred).
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and compliance management systems.
Additional Information
Travel Requirements: Frequent site visits to support compliance activities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
