Job Overview
The Duke of Edinburgh Award Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme within the organisation. This position involves managing programme activities, supporting participants, and ensuring the successful achievement of award levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and communication skills, with a passion for youth development and community engagement. Duties
- Coordinate and deliver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award activities, ensuring adherence to programme guidelines and standards.
- Support participants through personalised guidance, motivation, and regular progress reviews.
- Organise training sessions, expeditions, and assessment events in collaboration with schools, community groups, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of participant progress, attendance, and achievement documentation.
- Promote the programme through outreach activities, presentations, and community engagement initiatives.
- Upsell additional services or programmes related to youth development or extracurricular activities where appropriate.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines for reporting, assessments, and programme evaluations.
- Foster strong relationships with partner organisations, volunteers, and participants to ensure programme success.
Experience
- Proven experience in youth work, education management, or community programmes is desirable.
- Previous experience in hospitality or guest services can be advantageous due to the emphasis on organisation and communication skills.
- Experience in fundraising or sponsorship activities is a plus to support programme sustainability.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with young people, parents, schools, and external partners.
- Knowledge of upselling techniques can be beneficial in promoting additional opportunities within youth development programmes.
- Experience in hospitality or hotel environments can enhance guest service delivery and organisational efficiency.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent time management skills to balance programme responsibilities with administrative tasks.
