The Automation Assistant will be required to carry out the preparation, operational and rectification tasks listed below on the Automated Materials Handling Equipment.
‘Start of shift’ checks ensuring equipment is fit for use Powering down safely and correctly to allow product flow faults to be rectified Investigate the reasons and re-start the system after an emergency stop (non-technical errors) Rectify time-out faults using the manual controllers (Pendant or HMI panel) Follow safety procedures when working on and around the Automated Mechanical Handling Equipment, such as isolation of adjoining equipment, and following the "safe entry procedure"& use of correct PPE Using access equipment in and around the system to rectify product flow issues Machine Housekeeping (cleanliness), removal of any objects that would interfere with product flow, such as pallet debris and cling film, to ensue product flow is not impeded Report issues to the control room for issuing or escalation to the engineering partners for rectification Communication of faults and system availabilityNotifying the Error Handler partners of faults and their locationsFollow the onsite communication protocol to ensure the operation is kept informed of all issue. Use of a handheld radio is provided for this use Shift Handover Meetings - main issues throughout the shift to be communicated Further communications to be translated via the shift handover, i.e. toolbox talks, meeting with Engineering colleagues, to enable the Error Handlers to relay any concerns and/or problems within the Automated Materials Handling equipment
Numerate and literate, able to use computer equipment Be able to work on own initiative / be a self starter Clear spoken voice and auditory comprehension Experience in a warehousing, engineering or automation environment would be advantageous An interest in engineering would be an advantage Ability to analyse Willingness to learn Good communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work at height via ladder or steps Self motivated Positive attitude Results orientated Customer focused First time right with attention to detail Physically able to fulfil the role Manual handling
