The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and landscape maintenance, with practical experience in using various tools and machinery. Working for a company using a range of equipment, whch is either new, or maintained to a great standard.
Duties
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising.
- Operate mechanical equipment such as excavators and power tools to carry out construction or landscaping tasks.
- Use hand tools for planting, trimming, and general upkeep of outdoor areas.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functioning.
- Assist with specialised horticultural activities, including soil preparation and plant health assessments.
- Ensure all work areas are kept safe, clean, and organised in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support larger construction projects related to grounds development or improvement.
- To achieve the higher level of pay stated, the candidate would be required to demonstrate an ability to or efficiently, problem solve, cut grass to a high standard, be competent in pruning shrubs and hedges to a height of 10ft or be competent in planting, tending to small shrubs, pave and fence on their own
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or gardening.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to operating machinery such as excavators and power tools.
- Proficiency in using hand tools for gardening and construction tasks.
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles and plant care techniques.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Physical fitness to undertake outdoor manual work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and initiative. Pay: £24,862.00-£27,300.00 per year
