Asuke Sushi is looking for a skilled chef to join our team on a part-time basis.
About the Role
We are looking for a team member available to work one day per week. The shift is on Sundays, from 11:30am to 9:00pm.
You will be involved in preparing a variety of hot dishes, assisting with sushi production, and supporting the head chef in running a smooth and efficient kitchen.
Key Duties
- Prepare hot meals using wok techniques, including noodle stir-fries and teriyaki-based dishes
- Cut, portion, and prepare meat to specification.
- Assist with menu development, dish creation, and sushi preparation.
- Maintain high standards for presentation, plating, and overall food quality.
- Ensure a clean, hygienic, and well-organized workstation.
- Provide guidance to junior chefs and support team development.
Skills & Experience
- Strong knife skills and a deep understanding of Japanese cooking methods.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Fast, accurate plating and presentation skills for Japanese cuisine.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team-oriented approach.
