Job Summary
We’re looking for a resilient, organised and people-focused Recruitment Resourcer to join our busy team, supporting our relief and ad-hoc recruitment desk within the social and supported housing sector.
This is a fast-paced, phone-based role, so you’ll need to genuinely enjoy speaking to people and be comfortable handling a high volume of calls throughout the day. Relief recruitment can be reactive, shifts change, clients need cover at short notice and candidates need to cancel, so being able to think quickly, stay calm and juggle changing priorities is a big part of the job.
You’ll be at the heart of keeping the desk running smoothly, helping make sure our clients have the right people in place when they need them. The role also includes taking part in a shared out-of-hours mobile rota, including weekends, which is divided fairly across the team.
If you enjoy being busy, talking to people and solving problems, this could be a great role for you.
What you’ll be doing
- Speaking to candidates throughout the day, this is a telephone-heavy role, so you’ll need to be confident and comfortable picking up the phone and building strong, professional relationships.
- Registering, screening and onboarding new candidates.
- Managing candidate availability and booking shift cover, including responding quickly to last-minute requirements and cancellations.
- Taking part in the team’s shared out-of-hours mobile rota, dealing with urgent shift changes, cancellations and cover requirements outside normal office hours, including weekends.
- Proactively contacting candidates to maximise availability and reduce gaps in cover.
- Sourcing new candidates through job boards, databases and other recruitment channels.
- Managing candidate compliance, including DBS checks, references, right to work and other required documentation.
- Maintaining accurate candidate records and keeping on top of outstanding compliance and follow-ups.
- Supporting weekly payroll by helping ensure timesheets and hours are accurate.
- Liaising with clients and candidates to resolve queries and problems quickly.
- Attending face-to-face and Teams meetings with candidates, clients and colleagues.
- Building and maintaining strong client and candidate relationships.
- Working closely with the wider recruitment team to provide a high-quality service.
About you
- Someone who genuinely enjoys talking to people, you’ll spend a significant part of your working day on the phone.
- Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to stay calm when things get busy.
- Highly organised with excellent prioritisation skills.
- Comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly.
- A strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Empathetic and emotionally intelligent, with a genuine ability to listen to and understand people.
- Proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and good attention to detail.
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and taking ownership of getting things done.
- A positive team player who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment.
You’ll enjoy a role where priorities can change quickly and where solving a last-minute problem can make a real difference to a client, candidate, and the people they support.
Previous recruitment experience is desirable, particularly within social housing, supported housing, healthcare, or social care, but it isn’t essential. We’d also be keen to hear from people with experience in customer service, hospitality, administration, scheduling, coordination, or other fast-paced, people-focused environments.
For us, the most important things are your attitude, work ethic, organisation, and ability to communicate confidently and empathetically with people.
For the right person, this role could be the first step into a really successful career in recruitment. You’ll be joining an established, busy and successful desk, with the opportunity to learn the industry, build your skills and take on more responsibility as you develop. Recruitment can be a highly rewarding and lucrative career for people who are driven, resilient and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and we’re keen to support someone who wants to progress with us.
If you’re looking for more than just your next job and want the opportunity to build a successful career in recruitment, this could be a great place to start & we would love to hear from you.
