Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Wake Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being.
Wake Night Hours : 21:15 - 07:45
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Aid in meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Engage in behaviour management strategies to assist clients with specific needs, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Document client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or similar environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration.
- Experience in senior care, hospice care, or dementia care is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including heavy lifting when required.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients but not essential.
