Job Summary
We are a construction company looking for a highly organised, reliable and proactive Construction Administrator to join our team and support the day-to-day running of the business.
This is an important role within the company, working closely with management, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the office and administrative side of our projects runs smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Providing general administrative support to the management and construction team
- Answering emails and telephone calls and dealing with enquiries professionally
- Maintaining company and project records, files and documentation
- Preparing and sending quotations, purchase orders, invoices and other documents
- Assisting with the administration of construction projects from start to completion
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other contractors
- Obtaining and following up quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Keeping track of project paperwork, deadlines and outstanding actions
- Updating spreadsheets and internal systems
- Assisting with timesheets, expenses and basic accounts administration
- Booking meetings, appointments and deliveries where required
- Helping to ensure company paperwork and compliance documentation is kept up to date
- Supporting the directors and site teams with general day-to-day requirements
- Carrying out other administrative duties as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in an office or administrative role with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets), and QuickBooks.
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Strong typing skills for efficient data entry and document preparation.
- Demonstrated clerical experience with attention to detail in record keeping and file management.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Familiarity with office equipment such as printers, scanners, and telephones is preferred.
Construction industry experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. We are particularly interested in someone with strong administrative skills who is keen to learn and develop within a growing construction company.
