The Connections Bus Project is recruiting for a Part-time Administrator with a strong emphasis on finance to assist in the banking, accounting and minute taking of this successful Cambridgeshire based youth work charity.
The role will be for 8 hours a week with a minimum of 4 hours at the office.
Main Duties:
1. Financial:
- To bank cash
- To prepare and send invoices as required
- To action payment of invoices received and staff expenses via internet banking
- To maintain accounting records using MyFundAccounting
- To prepare monthly reports for the treasurer, and the end of year accounts for the auditor (according to Charity Commission requirements)
- To ensure gift aid claims are made appropriately
2. Other Tasks:
- To arrange Management Committee Meetings and others as requested, and prepare agendas, organise venues and take minutes
- To draft termly village reports
- To arrange the purchase of craft resources, office stock etc
- To arrange annual appraisal diary for Project Manager
3. Any other duties as agreed by the Project Manager and Trustees.
Personal Specification:
General
- Aged 21 or over
- IT Literacy – including Microsoft Office to an intermediate level
- Self-motivated with ability to use own initiative, prioritising own workload
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Satisfactory completion of a standard DBS check following acceptance of job
Essential Experience
- Regular minute taking experience
- 12 months experience of accountancy software
- 12 months experience of internet banking for organisation – not personal
- Knowledge of how to raise invoices and record receipts through a sales ledger
- Understanding of journals and carrying out bank reconciliations
- Willingness to learn, develop and take part in training – lifelong commitment
Desired Experience
- Experience in use of MyFundAccounting software
- Experience in working for a charity
- Knowledge of accounting in the charity sector
