We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our friendly community pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice.
This is a 24-month commitment combining paid employment with a GPhC-approved apprenticeship programme. On successful completion, you will be eligible to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Working Hours
- 30 hours per week
- Monday to Saturday on a rota
- Some Saturday working is required
- Working hours will be agreed in advance but flexibility is essential.
- The apprenticeship lasts 24 months, and applicants must be able to commit to the full duration of the programme.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll receive full training while working alongside experienced pharmacists and pharmacy professionals, learning how to:
- Dispense NHS and private prescriptions safely and accurately
- Support patients with medicines and pharmacy services
- Administer and advise on vaccines
- Manage stock and ordering
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Develop clinical and technical pharmacy skills
- Work towards becoming a registered Pharmacy Technician
Essential Requirements
Please only apply if you meet ALL of the following criteria:
✔ You are aged 16 years or over
✔ You have the right to work in the UK and meet the eligibility requirements for an apprenticeship
✔ You have (or are working towards)GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- One additional subject
✔ You are committed to completing a 24-month apprenticeship
✔ You are able to work 30 hours per week, including some Saturdays
✔ You have good communication skills and enjoy working with people
✔ You are organised, reliable and willing to learn
Desirable
Although not essential, we'd also like to see:
- Previous customer service experience
- Experience working in retail or healthcare
- An interest in medicines and healthcare

- Do not meet the apprenticeship funding eligibility requirements
- Cannot commit to the full 24-month apprenticeship
- Cannot work 30 hours per week
- Are unable to work Saturdays when required
- Do not hold (or are not working towards) the required GCSE qualifications
