Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Spray Painter to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to vehicles, ensuring a flawless and durable result. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment. Candidates with mechanical knowledge and experience using hand and power tools will be highly valued. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Mix paints and primers accurately according to colour specifications and technical data sheets.
- Operate spray guns and other painting equipment safely and effectively to apply coats evenly across vehicle surfaces.
- Perform touch-ups and corrective work as needed to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with the assembly or disassembly of vehicle parts as required during the painting process.
- Conduct quality checks on finished work, ensuring colour match and surface finish meet company standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques safely during preparation and finishing processes.
Experience
- Previous experience in automotive painting or refinishing is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for understanding vehicle structures and repair processes.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, or brushes is desirable.
- Experience operating power tools related to painting or surface preparation is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or materials is required.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes are essential for success in this role.
- Panel beating experience required
