North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dynamic and motivated Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join our well-established North Cumbria Specialist Palliative care team which spans acute and community. This is an additional consultant post to increase the consultant support across our acute hospital sites in Carlisle and Whitehaven. There is an established End of Life Improvement Programme with Medical and Nursing leads in place. A key part of the role would be in contributing to the delivery of end of life improvement work and working collaboratively with stakeholders.
The successful candidate will join a team of consultants in Palliative medicine supported by nurse specialists in both acute and community. There are opportunities to develop sub specialty interest where this contributes to and complements the department and Trusts’ service needs. There are undergraduate, postgraduate education and research opportunities available. There is no on-call commitment although this may change as services develop.
The post is for 10PA however applicants wishing to work less than full-time will still be considered.
Applicants are required to have full specialist registration in Palliative Medicine or be within 6 months of CCT/CESR.
This is a hospital based consultant role in palliative medicine.
