About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support the day-to-day finance function.
This role would suit someone with solid bookkeeping or finance administration experience who enjoys working as part of a collaborative finance team, while also being confident managing their own responsibilities independently.
You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end processes, and ensuring supplier reconciliations and banking activities are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Raising sales invoices where required
- Processing employee expenses
- Assisting with VAT returns
- Posting journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Supporting month-end close processes
- Assisting with payroll administration where required
- Processing intercompany transactions
- Maintaining accurate filing and financial records
- Providing support during audits
- General finance administration and bookkeeping duties as required
About You
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping or finance role, either in-house or within practice
- Confident daily user of Xero (essential)
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
- AAT qualification desirable, although qualified by experience will also be considered
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Takes pride in maintaining accurate and well-organised financial records
- Professional, reliable, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues
