This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Laser Operator to join a rapidly expanding British manufacturer involved in the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of specialist industrial equipment.
We are heavily investing in modern, cutting-edge technology and facility expansions. Due to an expanding order book, we are looking for a skilled, proactive CNC Laser Operator with a valid Counterbalance Forklift licence to take charge of cutting operations and material handling in our workshop.
The Role
As our CNC Laser Operator, you will run and maintain our high-precision LVD Laser cutting system, ensuring accurate parts production, safe material handling, and efficient machine throughput.
Day-to-day duties will include:
- Setting up, operating, and maintaining an LVD Laser cutting machine to precise specifications.
- Loading raw sheet metal and unloading cut profiles safely and efficiently using a forklift.
- Occasionally nesting components and optimizing sheet utilization using CAM/nesting software.
- Conducting quality inspections on cut parts (checking tolerances, deburring, and edge quality).
- Managing raw material stock and sheet staging in the laser area.
- Working closely with the fabrication and assembly teams to keep production moving seamlessly.

- Working hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Early finish for the weekend)

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience setting up and operating flatbed CNC lasers (experience with LVD systems is highly advantageous).
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence (FLT) with proven experience safely moving raw sheet metal and pallets.
- Basic understanding of CAM nesting software to occasionally prepare and adjust cut nests.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand sheet metal tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and good housekeeping standards around machinery.
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
