The Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Loading/Production Operative to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading goods, weighing up orders, quality control, ensuring orders are prepared accurately and dispatched on time. They will also be responsible for ensuring the safe handling of materials, and maintaining organisation within the dispatch environment.
20 hours per week, shift-based working pattern with a daily 30 minute break:
Monday: 4:30pm-10pm
Tuesday: 3:30pm-9pm
Wednesday: 3:30pm-9pm
Thursday: 4:30pm-10pm
Key responsibilities
- Loading and unloading goods from delivery vehicles
- weighing orders accurately
- Quality control
- Checking orders for accuracy before dispatch
- Ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently
- Operating warehouse equipment (training provided where necessary)
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
- Following health and safety and food hygiene regulations
- Working closely with dispatch and transport teams
- occasional deliveries & collections
Requirements
- Driving license essential
- Previous warehouse or loading experience preferred but not essential
- Proactively work as part of a team and have a positive can-do attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols
