Job Description:
Are you a highly skilled therapist ready to step into a pivotal leadership role that blends world-class guest care with commercial drive? We are seeking a dynamic Spa Supervisor & Lead Therapist to join our team.
In this dual-focus role, you will split your time between delivering exceptional hands-on treatments and driving the spa's operational and financial success. You will lead by example on the spa floor, supervising and coaching the therapist team while actively pushing retail sales, treatment upsells, and occupancy targets. If you are passionate about wellness, possess natural leadership flair, and are motivated by achieving revenue targets, we want to hear from you.
Who we are: Our co-founders, Pedro and Jeremiah, started COCON in Amsterdam back in 2021. We wanted to do things differently, and worked hard to make our first spa the #1 rated hotel spa on TripAdvisor, and in 2024, we brought that same energy to the UK. Today, we operate 6 spas in London and are seeking passionate and driven individuals to join us.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue & Commercial Drive
- Maximize Revenue: Actively drive spa revenue by establishing a strong culture of retail recommendations and treatment upselling within the team.
- Target Achievement: Meet and exceed personal and team KPI targets, including retail-to-treatment percentages and treatment room occupancy.
- Promotions & Packages: Collaborate with the Spa Manager to implement creative promotions, seasonal packages, and local marketing initiatives to boost bookings.
- Efficient Scheduling: Oversee therapist columns and treatment schedules to maximize booking efficiency and minimize white space on the grid.
- Leadership & Team Supervision
- Lead by Example: Maintain a split schedule providing luxury treatments while actively supervising the daily operations of the therapist team.
- Team Development: Assist the Spa Manager in training, mentoring, and monitoring the performance of therapists to maintain elite service standards.
- Daily Operations: Manage shift handovers, enforce presentation and grooming standards, and ensure the spa maintains a serene, immaculate, and professional environment.
- Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations across treatment rooms and communal areas.
Guest Experience & Service Recovery
- VIP Care: Deliver top-tier massage, facial, and body treatments that reflect a luxury hotel spa standard.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the first point of contact for guest inquiries or complaints, handling service recovery with absolute professionalism, speed, and tact.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy (or equivalent - must be a recognized qualification).
- Proven experience working as a therapist within a luxury hotel spa or premium wellness environment.
- Commercial Mindset: Strong commercial acumen with a track record of consistently hitting retail sales and revenue targets.
- Leadership Potential: Previous experience as a senior therapist or shift supervisor is highly desirable; must demonstrate excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to stay calm under pressure, multi-task, and problem-solve in a fast-paced luxury environment.
- Flexibility: Full-time availability, including weekends and evening shifts as required by the business.
