Trainee (HDD) Operatives
AMS Trenchless Specialists are one of the largest privately owned Horizontal Directional Drilling specialists in the UK. Founded in 1994 the company has grown significantly from undertaking small diameter installations primarily for the utilities sector to one of the market leaders in design and installation of major land to off-shore drills for the renewables and water industry.
Due to major investment and upgrade in the UK power industry we have a solid orderbook and on-going technical involvement in the development of future project where trenchless installation methods will be needed.
The Position:
Given the indications of growth within the sector, we have identified opportunities for Trainee operatives to become an integral part of our operations team.
No prior experience is required, although experience in the civils or utilities sector would be an advantage. A full training (subject to training agreement) programme and structured progression will be given including the opportunity to gain NVQ II qualification + other training courses relevant to the industry.
Working hands-on as part of a site team, you will assist in the set-up, execution and demobilisation of directional drilling projects installing pipework and ducting across roads, rivers, rail track and runways.
The successful candidates will be expected to work away from home as required on sites located around the UK.
20 days paid holiday, plus bank and public holidays.
Your normal hours of work will be Monday to Friday 07.30 to 17.30; however, weekend and overtime may be required on a project by project basis.
