Work available at the York Food & Drink Festival
Applicants will be expected to work a number of daytimes and early evenings, including weekends, over the period of Sunday 13th to Tuesday 29th September.
Tasks include:
- Erecting pop up marquees
- Decorating the festival area with signage and banners
- Setting up festival equipment and furniture - this includes the lifting and carrying of heavy objects
- General upkeep of the festival area such as tidying, emptying bins, cleaning toilets, sanitising tables
- Delivering hands on workshops to children and families in our Food Factory and schools workshops programme
- Serving customers at the Festival produce stall
- Assisting members of the public, providing festival information to the members of the public.
Useful skills to have:
- Knowledge of food & drink
- Knowledge of York i.e. being able to give directions to members of the public
- Experience working with children
Hours: 60 to 80 hrs over the two weeks.
Start time and finish times: Shifts can start as early as 8am, later shifts can finish as late as 9.30pm
