What is the role?
As an R&B Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of work; drawing on your wealth of experience to provide world-class technical solutions, underpinned by an exceptional standard of service.
From the initial enquiry, through to through to delivery and reporting, you will be the driving force behind each project. You will be accountable for ensuring that internal departments and third-party suppliers are fulfilling the work scope on time, within budget and in accordance with wider industry standards.
You will develop strong, collaborative relationships with the Manufacturing team, working closely to ensure seamless project delivery from design through to production. By maintaining regular communication, understanding manufacturing capabilities and constraints, and proactively resolving issues, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities
- Lead and manage projects through the full lifecycle, from enquiry and planning to design, production, delivery, handover and commercial close-out.
- Define project scope, programmes, budgets, resources, risks and key deliverables, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Procurement, Stores, Test, Site Services and external suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, risks, programme changes, commercial performance and customer commitments, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle and identifying opportunities for future business.
- Chair project review meetings, communicate project updates across the business and ensure actions are completed and documented.
- Manage project budgets, procure materials and services, control costs, oversee variations and maximise project profitability.
- Ensure all technical documentation, design briefs, production handovers and project information are accurate, complete and communicated effectively.
- Ensure projects comply with IEC 61439, ISO 9001, health and safety legislation, environmental requirements and company standards.
- Lead, mentor and support Project Engineers, helping to prioritise workloads, develop technical and commercial skills, and resolve project challenges.
- Support the Head of Manufacturing with departmental planning, continuous improvement initiatives, team development and process standardisation.
- Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement, promoting best practice and sharing lessons learned across the team.

Skills & Experience
- Minimum of HNC (degree or HND preferred) qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Low and/or medium voltage switchgear delivery role
- Excellent technical knowledge of switchgear/electrical power systems
- Ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels, to drive continuous improvements and behavioural change through the organisation.
- Should have a high level of self-motivation and the ability to deliver results and make things happen.
- Should have a strong drive, questioning attitude and passion for improvements.
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
- Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting Project Engineers or similar project delivery personnel.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage day-to-day priorities, support team development and hold others accountable.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong technical background in LV Switchgear. You will have the ability to manage complex projects, balancing technical requirements, commercial performance, customer expectations and successful project delivery.
You'll be a confident and approachable leader who can motivate and support engineering teams, while building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to provide clear project updates, resolve challenges and ensure a consistently high standard of customer service.
With a solutions-focused mindset and strong commercial awareness, you'll identify opportunities to improve project delivery, maximise profitability and develop long-term customer partnerships. You'll lead by example, championing the R&B brand, promoting a positive team culture, and supporting the implementation of company standards, processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
