Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Room Leader to join our team on a maternity cover basis. In this vital role, you will lead and inspire a team of early childhood educators, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to learn, grow, and thrive. Your leadership will ensure that high standards of childcare and education are maintained while fostering positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a designated nursery room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and early childhood education.
- Plan and implement engaging daily activities that support children’s developmental needs across all areas including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Foster strong relationships with children, providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where they feel valued and confident.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, sharing updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Support the professional development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback sessions.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean, secure, and hazard-free environment.
- Manage administrative tasks such as maintaining accurate records of children’s development, attendance, and incident reports.
Skills
- Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting with strong leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively liaise with children, parents, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Deep understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices.
- Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment is essential.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills to manage daily routines efficiently and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Valid driving license is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site activities when necessary.

Pay: £13.25 per hour
