We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager to support the leadership and operational management of our residential care home specializing in senior care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in leadership and dementia care, with proven management and supervising experience. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working within a supportive and professional environment. The Deputy Home Manager will assist the Home Manager in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, adherence to care plans, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Duties
- Work active floor shifts alongside the care team
- Support the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans for residents.
- Supervise and mentor care staff, promoting best practices in person-centred care and maintaining high standards of service.
- Administer medication safely and accurately in accordance with prescribed protocols.
- Lead on training, and performance management.
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, liaising with healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to residential care.
- Promote a positive environment that encourages independence, dignity, and respect for residents.
- Assist the Home Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Support the organization’s quality assurance processes through audits and feedback mechanisms.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Deputy Manager within a residential care setting
- Experience supporting elderly residents, including those living with Dementia and challenging behaviours
- Ability to complete compliance audits and staff supervisions
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Compassionate, caring, and professional approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Alternate weekends availability
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and regulatory requirements for residential care homes.
- Experience in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- Excellent written and verbal English
