We are currently recruiting an experienced Roofing Manager to lead the operatives in the area and drive technical standards.
The Role
As Roofing Manager, you will be integral in planning and delivering a variety of work from full re-roof schemes (pitched and flat) to managing day to day reactive maintenance contracts. You’ll manage site activity day-to-day, coordinate direct & sub-contract labour, and ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to SSR Roofing’s quality standards.
This role is initially based in Swansea & Pembrokshire however, we have contract starts in Herefordshire, so travel may be required to support site coverage and operational continuity (including absence cover where needed).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full re-roofing projects (pitched and flat roof systems) from start to handover.
- Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors and direct labour on site.
- Liaise with clients, residents (where applicable), manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery.
- Produce, manage, and maintain project programmes, budgets, and reporting.
- Create and maintain Health & Safety files and ensure site compliance at all times.
- Uphold SSR Roofing quality standards, workmanship, and site presentation.
- Oversee inspections, snagging, and close-out works to agreed deadlines.
- Compile and manage handover documentation (O&M information where required, warranties, completion packs).
- Work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure alignment on cost, progress, variations, and delivery risks.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing roofing projects valued £50k – £1m.
- Ability to motivate and manage our labour force in your area.
- Strong roofing knowledge pitched and flat.
- SMSTS/SSSTS (essential).
- Strong understanding of H&S compliance and site documentation.
- Confident managing labour, sub-contractors, and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
Desirable
- Experience working in a social housing setting.
- Experience working across multiple live sites / regional coverage.
