Job Description: Sous Chef (Minimum of 30 Hours Per Week)
Position: Sous Chef - Part Time (with opportunity for review and progression to full-time)

Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate sous chef to join our team. As a sous chef at Posillipo, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, assisting with the menus, and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently. Proposed rate is currently at the minimum wage, but open to negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and standards
- Assist with menu development, ordering, and stock control
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organisation
- Step in for the Head Chef when required
- Train and support junior kitchen staff
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a sous chef or senior chef in a restaurant setting (Minimum 2 Years)
- Proficient in various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
Work Schedule:
This is a full time position with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
