TimesGroup Ltd is a growing Mechanical & Electrical Contractor delivering Mechanical Building Services projects across the residential, student accommodation, commercial, education and healthcare sectors.
Following the award of multiple new-build and refurbishment projects, we are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Building Services Project Manager to join our Projects Division.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you'll take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to handover.
Our immediate workload includes:
- New Build Residential Apartment Development – Bedford
- Student Accommodation Refurbishment – Canterbury
- Commercial, Education & Residential Projects across the Midlands & South East
The Role
You will be responsible for the successful delivery of Mechanical Building Services packages, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with clients, site teams, consultants, subcontractors and our in-house commercial team, you'll manage projects from initial mobilisation through to commissioning and final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Mechanical Building Services projects from pre-start through to practical completion.
- Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials, plant and procurement.
- Attend client, design, progress and site meetings.
- Manage Mechanical Supervisors, plumbers, pipefitters and specialist subcontractors.
- Monitor project programmes and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Identify and manage variations alongside the commercial team.
- Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification.
- Coordinate commissioning, flushing, pressure testing and final handover.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Produce regular progress reports and programme updates.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong background in Mechanical Building Services construction who is confident managing multiple site activities while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Essential
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the Building Services / M&E Construction industry.
- Experience delivering new-build or refurbishment projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Domestic & commercial plumbing systems
- Heating systems
- Public Health services
- HVAC installations
- Plant rooms
- Above-ground drainage
- Mechanical Building Services installations
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience delivering:
- Residential developments
- Student accommodation
- Apartment blocks
- Commercial buildings
- SMSTS
- CSCS Managers Card
- First Aid at Work
- NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent Mechanical qualification.
Please Note
This position is focused on Mechanical Building Services construction projects. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience delivering M&E packages on residential, student accommodation, commercial, healthcare or education developments.
Applicants whose experience is primarily within heavy industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation or process engineering environments may not be suitable for this particular role.
