We're looking for a Duty Manager – Branding & Events Lead to play a key role in the daily operation of our thriving club while leading the delivery of exciting events and supporting our brand and marketing activities.

Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club is an independent multisport health club, where you can work in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere with an enthusiastic team of staff.
The Club offers tennis, squash, gym and padel to its 1800 members, with the clubhouse and bar area offering food and drink service throughout the day and evening.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the Club Assistant team during your shift, ensuring high standards of service are maintained.
- Take responsibility for the daily operation of the club, including opening and closing procedures.
- Brief the team on daily activities and events to ensure everyone is informed and prepared.
- Act as the main point of contact for members, providing exceptional customer service and resolving queries efficiently.
- Carry out reception duties including court bookings, payments, retail sales and enquiries.
- Support membership growth by conducting club tours for prospective members and assisting with membership follow-ups.
- Ensure the club remains safe, clean and welcoming, maintaining compliance with health & safety, safeguarding and company policies.
- Report and monitor maintenance issues and equipment faults.
- Support staff development by coordinating training through our Learning Management System (LMS), mentoring team members and promoting continuous improvement.
- Complete and oversee operational checklists, including opening, closing, bar, reception and sauna procedures.
Branding & Marketing
- Support the delivery of the club's brand across digital, print and in-club communications.
- Assist with marketing campaigns promoting memberships, coaching programmes, competitions and events.
- Create engaging content for social media, the club website, email marketing and in-house displays.
- Maintain marketing assets, templates and promotional materials to ensure brand consistency.
Events
- Lead the planning and delivery of club events, including tournaments, social events, corporate functions, sponsor activations and member experiences.
- Manage event enquiries from initial contact through to successful delivery.
- Keep the club events calendar up to date and ensure information is communicated effectively across the team.
- Coordinate event logistics including schedules, suppliers, equipment, signage, guest lists and on-the-day operations.
- Help develop exciting new events that enhance member engagement and attract new audiences.
About You

- Flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in leisure, hospitality, health & fitness or a members' club environment.
- Experience managing events or marketing campaigns.
- Knowledge of social media content creation and digital marketing.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
