At Feltonfleet School, we believe the school day doesn't end when lessons finish. Our Wraparound Care provision offers children a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where they can relax, play, learn and flourish after school.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and caring Wraparound Care Lead to run our popular after-school provision for children from Nursery to Year 2.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys creating exciting activities, building positive relationships with children and families, and ensuring every child finishes their school day feeling happy, valued and cared for.
No two afternoons are the same. One day might involve den building, baking or storytelling; the next could see you organising crafts, outdoor adventures, games or seasonal celebrations.
We're looking for someone with creativity, energy and a genuine passion for working with young children.
The Wraparound Care Lead is a vital role responsible for coordinating and delivering personalised care and support to children and their families within a community setting. This position involves leading a team to ensure that each child's individual needs are met through tailored programmes, fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for child development and wellbeing. Fluency in English is essential. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation arrangements.
Duties
Leading the Provision
- Plan, organise and lead the daily wraparound care programme.
- Create a welcoming, calm and inclusive environment where children feel safe and happy.
- Deliver a varied programme of age-appropriate activities including creative arts, construction, games, outdoor play, reading, imaginative play and quiet relaxation.
- Encourage children's independence, confidence and social development.
- Ensure children are appropriately supervised at all times.
- Promote positive behaviour through encouragement, praise and clear expectations.
Child Welfare & Safeguarding
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.
- Follow the school's safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
- Be alert to children's physical and emotional wellbeing and report any concerns immediately.
- Maintain accurate attendance and collection records.
- Ensure children are collected only by authorised adults.
- Administer basic first aid where required and report accidents appropriately.
Organisation
- Prepare activity areas before the session begins.
- Ensure equipment is safe, clean and well maintained.
- Manage resources effectively and identify any replacement requirements.
- Assist with providing healthy snacks where appropriate.
- Maintain high standards of tidiness throughout the session.
Communication
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Provide a warm and professional welcome to parents collecting children.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff regarding children's wellbeing where appropriate.
- Respond professionally to parent enquiries and pass on information as required.
Health & Safety
- Ensure activities are carried out safely and appropriate risk assessments are followed.
- Follow all school policies relating to health and safety.
- Report any hazards, accidents or incidents promptly.
- Help maintain a secure environment for all children attending the provision.
General Responsibilities
- Attend relevant training and staff meetings.
- Participate in safeguarding and first aid training as required.
- Contribute ideas to continually develop and improve the wraparound programme.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role.

Essential Skills
- Full and relevant Level 6 Early Years qualification or above.
- Qualification recognised by Ofsted and EYFS requirements.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Safeguarding training appropriate to the role.
- Has experience working with children aged 3–7 years.
- Is warm, approachable, patient and enthusiastic.
- Enjoys planning creative and engaging activities.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is highly organised and able to manage a busy environment.
- Can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection.
- Is reliable, punctual and professional.
- Can remain calm under pressure.
- Has a good standard of spoken and written English.
- Is willing to undertake safeguarding and first aid training.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of working in an independent school.
- Experience leading an after-school or holiday club.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Knowledge of EYFS and Key Stage 1.
Pay: £10,000.00-£15,000.00 per year
