Full job description

Your local British Red Cross shop has a variety of activities available for volunteers to support us in. From sorting stock & preparing donated items for sale to providing great customer service to our donors and customers - we have something to suit most people’s interests. Our shop is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones. **We are currently looking for Till & Customer Service volunteers to help us in our shop.** If you have a positive outlook, enjoy speaking to new people and are confident in learning how to use a shop till, then this may be for you. **Till & Customer Service volunteer - typical activities:** - Using the shop till to take payment for items - Promoting Gift Aid to maximise our fundraising potential - Helping and advising customers - Undertaking general activities in the shop No experience is needed. Full training will be provided. **When can I volunteer?** A few hours during the week/weekend - as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours, we only ask that we agree hours you are confident you can attend and that you let us know where these hours may change. **Interested?** Please click on the apply button and we will be in contact soon. **Not sure?** We have a range of opportunities and activities for volunteers in our shops, these are all available to view and apply to by searching your town/city name on this site. **Diversity** is something we celebrate. We will also have a conversation with you to discuss any adjustments you may need. As we take great care to ensure that all our volunteers are safe and supported, there may be some locations where we won’t be able to host 15-17 year olds.
