Full job description

About The Role

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Market Supervisor to oversee the operation of our weekly markets in Cromer and Sheringham.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in an outdoor environment, and takes pride in ensuring public spaces are safe, welcoming and well managed.

As the Council's on-site representative, you will play a key role in supporting traders, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring markets operate in accordance with Council policies and procedures.

You will be responsible for:

Supervising the set-up and take-down of Council markets.
Acting as the Council's professional representative on market days.
Building positive working relationships with market traders, visitors and other site users

Advising traders on market policies, procedures, charges and pitch arrangements.

Collecting and recording payments when required

Inspecting and reporting defects relating to Council property and signage.

This role is part-time for approximately 7hrs per week. The working hours are:

Wednesday 06:00-08:30 / 15:00-15:30
Friday 06:30-07:00 / 15:00-15:30
Saturday 06:00-08:30 / 15:00-15:30

About You

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Has strong communication and customer service skills.
Can work confidently and professionally on their own or as part of a small team
Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise tasks effectively
Can make sound decisions and respond calmly to unexpected situations
Is willing and able to work weekends, bank holidays and outdoors in all weather conditions.
