About the role
Location: Camden and Islington
As a Volunteer Admin Assistant, you will support the Community Team Advocates by providing essential administrative support through our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Your role will help ensure accurate, up-to-date records by adding notes, uploading documents, and completing other data-related tasks that enable advocates to focus on supporting people in our communities.
Ideally, you will be able to dedicate a minimum of 7 hours per week to volunteering between Monday – Friday. There will be flexibility around how you choose to complete these hours. The role is home-based however, you will be based locally to Camden and Islington.
Full training and regular supervision will be provided, so you’ll feel confident and supported in your role.
This role requires a basic DBS check, which will be arranged and paid for by Rethink Mental Illness.
As a Volunteer Admin Assistant, you will:
- Add and update case notes on the CRM system
- Upload and organise documents within the CRM
- Ensure records are accurate, complete, and up to date
- Support advocates with general CRM administration tasks
- Flagg missing or incomplete information to the Community Team
- Follow data protection and confidentiality guidelines at all times
About the service
Our service supports individuals who are vulnerable and find themselves in a challenging situation in their lives.
We offer one-to-one support to a wide range of people with learning, physical, sensory disabilities and mental illness who are struggling to have their voice head when important decisions are being made or they are unhappy about a service they have received, especially if the outcome could have a negative impact on their life.
By supporting the Community Team with CRM administration, you will play an important behind-the-scenes role in helping the service run smoothly and ensuring records are well maintained, compliant, and easy to access.

- Confidence using digital systems (training will be provided)
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Access to the internet and a laptop
It's not essential, but you may also bring:
- Experience using CRM or database systems
- Previous administrative or office experience
- Lived experience of mental illness
- Knowledge of Rethink Mental Illness and the work we do
