Commercial Director: Superb opportunity at this award-winning and expanding, Medium-sized Multidisciplinary Consultancy. This hybrid is role based in Uxbridge.

Overview

Our client is an award-winning multi-disciplinary group of Environmental and Engineering specialists comprising civil, structural, and geotechnical / geo environmental engineers who deliver a variety of complex construction challenges, site investigations, land contamination risk assessments, geotechnical engineering surveys, flood risk assessments, amongst other surveys, and have years of expertise in adopting a pragmatic approach to complex engineering challenges.

They are seeking an ambitious and talented Commercial Director to join the senior management team. This is a pivotal role with clear targets and excellent long-term prospects. The successful candidate will drive business development, optimise client relationships, and lead commercial growth strategies across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Growth

Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
Expand and optimise the client base through proactive engagement.
Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives.

Client Relationship Management

Attend client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
Build strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Commercial Strategy & Leadership

Contribute to strategic planning as part of the senior management team.
Set and monitor clear sales and revenue targets.
Oversee contract negotiations and ensure profitable outcomes.
Provide leadership and mentoring to sales and business development teams.

Operational & Financial Oversight

Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and profit margins.
Drive efficiency and profitability across commercial operations.

Requirements

Proven track record in sales, business development, and commercial leadership.
Background in construction or related industries is advantageous.
Multi discipline background across different sectors or service lines would be a strong advantage.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver against clear targets.
Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, balancing office, client site, and event attendance.
Ambitious, results-driven, and motivated by long-term growth opportunities.
