The project: The Quality Engineer (QE) supports the Quality Management Lead (QML) in ensuring project quality requirements are met across the full HPC project lifecycle.
The role provides implementation and monitoring support and does not hold accountability for final quality decisions, which remain with the QML.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements for deployment across the HPC organisation.
- Implementing key quality arrangements related to the following topics:
- Assisting with PQCPs and CQAPs.
- Supporting manufacturing surveillance and inspections.
- Assisting with NCR management and close out.
- Supporting quality reporting and metrics.
You’ll need to have:
Position requires experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear power sector, with significant focus on project quality, with a solid understanding of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control in major projects across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.
Industry & Project Experience: Proven experience working on HPC and strong understanding of quality assurance, compliance, and governance in Nuclear industry.
Experience of interfacing with project teams and with supply chain organisations.
Analysis of data, preparing reports and making recommendations.
Pro-active and flexible, being prepared to plan and work on own initiative.
Native‑level English speaker (spoken and written).
Experience & Seniority: Highly experienced Quality Engineer, operating at a senior level with capability and ambition to progress into a Quality Manager Lead role.
Knowledge of the nuclear sector, ideally new build.
Knowledge & understanding of nuclear site license conditions.
Ability to speak French is advantageous.
Knowledge of pressure and nuclear codes
Knowledge of Welding, Non Destructive Testing (NDT), Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE)
A HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
Proven track record of delivering results
Proven experience of interaction and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.
Broad experience of implementing a variety of quality related solutions
Hold a professional accreditation
Corporate Member or working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional
Knowledge of Improvement Methodologies, Tools & Techniques eg. Lean 6 Sigma
