Full job description

We are looking for Retail Volunteers to assist us on in our Galleria Shop. If you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to help out in our shop, we’d love to hear from you!

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful impact. Our shops play a crucial role in raising funds to support the essential services of Isabel Hospice.

We ask you to commit to at least one regular half-day weekly session. We have the following sessions available:

AM: 9am - 1pm

PM: 1pm - 5pm

Our Sunday shifts are from 10am - 1pm and 1pm - 4pm.

Please note that our Galleria Shop Managers are looking for volunteers who are able to commit long-term.

Under the leadership of your Shop Manager, you will be assisting with:

Providing the highest standard of service to customers
Keeping the shop fully stocked and ensuring items are displayed to show them at their best
Operating tills and taking payments
Ensuring both stock and cash security procedures are always followed
Contributing to keeping the shop and premises clean and tidy
Providing support and guidance to new volunteers to help them settle into their roles
Promoting the public’s understanding of the work of Isabel Hospice and the importance of raising funds through the shop
Raising awareness of Gift Aid to our customers
Promoting and applying the Isabel Hospice Health & Safety Policy

Your skills and Abilities:

Enjoy working in a team environment

Good organisational skills
Demonstrate and keen to develop good customer care skills
Security conscious
Confident in handling cash
Demonstrate and keen to develop display & merchandising skills

Am I eligible to volunteer?

We ask that our volunteers are:

At least 18 years old
Live within an easy commute to the area
Interested in volunteering for at least 6 months for at least 3 hours per week

All volunteers are assessed individually for the volunteer roles they are applying for. We strongly believe in equal opportunities and welcome applicants who are representative of our diverse communities.

Expectations:

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Isabel Hospice guidelines
Have a professional and courteous manner in accordance with Isabel Hospice policies
Demonstrate Isabel Hospice values
Identify yourself as a volunteer while carrying out your duties

All appointments are at the discretion of the management team and are subject to a one-month trial period for both parties.
